CNA Training Programs Online
The Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) is launching a national online learning network that will enable nurses to easily update and develop their professional competencies. Powered by CoursePark, the web-based network will connect nurses all over Canada to more than 145 accredited continuing education courses, created by and for nurses. Nearly 300 nurses tuned into a webinar demo of the learning network last week. The network is now open and accessible and will be formally launched at CNA’s biennial convention in Vancouver, June 18 to 20.
“Whether it’s electronic health records or medication management apps, we’re always looking for ways technology can help deliver safe, efficient care to Canadians,” said CNA president Judith Shamian. “NurseONE’s web-based continuing education program is going to make staying current and connected easy for nurses, no matter where they are in the country.”
CNA-NurseOne’s Learning Network on CoursePark will be available to any registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and registered psychiatric nurses in every province and territory, in urban and rural regions. Nurses can immediately access more than 215 hours’ worth of online educational material covering topics ranging from leadership to critical care. The network allows users to build a lifelong learning portfolio and provides them with a central repository for e-learning courses with discussion boards for sharing what they learn
Emad Rizkalla, president and CEO of Bluedrop said, “It is very gratifying to be able to provide these valuable courses to nurses in this country. This is a very important and hard working group of professionals and I am glad that CoursePark is able to play a role in helping them to access quality online education on their terms.”
Nurses attending CNA’s biennial convention can see free demos of the network at NurseONE’s exhibit table. CNA and Canadian Nursing Students’ Association members will receive a 10 per cent discount on the complete collection of nursing continuing education courses. The learning network is available in both English and French.
